Dachau Memorial Site

A cautionary look back

One of the most important memorial sites commemorating the atrocities of the “Third Reich”.

This concentration camp was established as early as March 1933, shortly after Hitler was appointed Reich Chancellor. It is closely linked to Munich, the “capital of the movement”, where the NSDAP was founded and where the party headquarters remained until 1945. Dachau concentration camp served as the template for all further camps of the regime of injustice. 41,500 people were murdered there. In 1945, American troops liberated the survivors.
